We have been going and going since Thursday.
It was a great long weekend, with lots of friends, fireworks, sparklers, food, music, and swimming. Here is a glimpse of how we celebrated Independence Day.
William and I went to the Nelson-Atkins Art Museum.
We wandered around and saw all different types of art.

I always loved this huge statue of Buddha. I used to just love sitting in this stairway when I would visit the museum. It was fun to show this spot to William.
We had a 3rd of July party and 4th of July party.
so of course, they had to do some funky dives and flips late that night.
it was great to hear music echo thru the valleys!
The 3rd of July party was a lot of fun. We got lots of rain, and lightning. It was intense. Everyone had a good time. Playing music, shooting off fireworks, laughing and enjoying the great outdoors with friends.

4th of July has it's own family Traditions. This is one of ours. Since i was a child, we would always make home made ice cream. the kids' job was to help crank the ice cream maker and sit on the top. My boys get to enjoy the labor of making ice cream with their grandparents.
Cover the Ears!
Whose bright idea was this???
we are so glad our friends came to visit, and celebrate with us.
I am so tired! I have so much cleaning and stuff to do!
But it was SO WORTH it!
Happy Independence Day!
